speaker ports
didn't have much luck in the audio forum, but here's my question. i have a sealed box and want to make it into a ported one. will it make any difference on where i place the port? ie: the front, back, side, top of the box etc. i just want to make sure before i start drilling. thanks in advance.

ported boxes are generally larger than sealed boxes. where you place the ort, dimensions of the port and depth of the port also affect how it sounds. find the dimensions from the speaker manufacturer and start from scratch

What type of speakers?
Generally the manufacturer will post the specs for the size box (amount of airspace) that you'll need. Your best bet will probably be to grab some MDF and make a new box with the proper airspace to run your subs in a ported enclosure.
It's time consuming, but worth it if you want to get the best sound out of your subs - and will cost you under $50.
