won't shift out of second?

won't shift out of second?

ok heres my problem my car will not shift out of second when goes to shift to 3rd it shift to nothing like being in neutrel and the rpm's just go crasy. did self diag. and nothing came up wrong. this happened to me about 2 weeks ago took it to a transmission shop changed the valve body assimbly and a silonoid (external) drained transmission fluid and refilled. worked good for about 150 miles then took a **** on me again. any suggestions on what my problem may be. also it sound like a vaccum running underneath my car if thats any help.

Take it back to the shop and tell them their work didn't last and that they should do it over again. If you have already paid some cash then you should try to get them to work on it under whatever type of gurantee they might have given you.

As for the actual cause, I really don't know myself but others on here might have an idea or two.

its your torque converter. its spitting metal chips into clutch cavity. eating away at walls. not enough pressure to shift into third. happened to me. $2000 rebuild
