has anyone put real hid's "not colored bulbs" in a 92 max,if so hows the light/beam pattern, did you have to adjust the headlight housing.just wondering because most cars with hid have clear housing with reflective backing as where the max has the lines on the glass..

Izzy, Joe fixed the fog already and I agree he has to do the 5 speed swap. Thanks for the compliments on the HID's. John sold to Jason his HID kit on the 4th gen because he just bought a brand new 5th gen...just updating you incase no one told you.

Here is a pic....Enjoy

I will update this pic soon. I took out the corner 1157 bulb and didn't put anything in there and replaced the corner wedge bulb with a purple PIAA bulb, it looks very nice. I also changed my fogs they are yellow using PIAA Ion yellow bulbs. I will take pics because it looks 10x better.

I sell the kit also. Its made of all German components (Hella Brand bulb and ballast) It's a very good quality kit. Plus the bulb already has the backing molded onto the bulb, some kits require glueing the backing onto the HID bulb not in my kit.

9004 kits
Purple 9000k $415.00
Blue 7500k like mine $400.00 shipped
White 4300k $380.00 shipped

No prob, tomorrow I have school all day so I'll probably be taking the pictures Wedenesday night, and if you'd like you can come down to Queens, NY if you live close by and see them for yourself. But I will take pics Wedneday night and I'll send them to you and post them in this thread. N34JZ also has the same kit and he's located out in long island...I'm sure he has no problem showing them to you also if his location is more convenient for you.

Even if I do hyper rewired corners, the HID's make it look like shiet. It looks real good the way I have them...you'll see it when you get the chance to see it.

I have an 89 maxima gxe, I have put in 8000K HID kit in my stock headlamps. Yes indeed the lighting is much better than the stock bulbs but it seems that there is more light shining on the sides of the road and not enough in front of me as I was expecting. Eventually I had to put fog lamps and aim them so that the HID's help me to see the sides and the fogs help me see in front of me. My SUV with the 6000K (and clear headlamps) much better. The beam apttern is awsome and the cutoff is crisp. Also my Lexus which has projectors has the 6000K lights and IT responds very well to the hid's. I want to try the US spec BMW e36 headlamps but am afraid that the results may not be what I want. If anybody out there has E36 us specs with HID I would be interested in seeing the beam pattern. Brandons are the projectors and they respond very nicely, but I wonder about the US spec. Again don't get me wrong, the lighting is 100% better than stock but just not what I expected.

Hope this helps

yeah my corners were rewired (they looked like **** with teh hids), I took the bulb out and Im probably gonna do what diego did with the wedge bulb, I have to go to work now but tonight ill take some pictures, btw the kit that Diego sells is plug and play, so it takes like 5 minutes on each side, and the light out-put is crazy, they light up the whole road and street signs from hundreds of feet away,

Our headlights weren't designed to be used with HIDs. You actually lose about 40-50% of the light output (this is with any type of lighting system) in the lenses and housing of our headlights. Seeing that the 3rd Gen beam pattern has to be the worst design ever HIDs do help out though. I have a friend who has HIDs on his 90 GXE and i have more light output on the ground then he does with just the Bimmer conversion (projector low beams) but his are brighter on to oncoming traffic. Projectors have a 95% efficiency rating as compared to the stock 3rd gen's 50-60%. I'll soon have pics up of my bimmer conversion with the halos (like we need to see another but i know someone will ask!)

the fog lights are now off the car, and probably will be until i decide what to do with the lights.. i have a "new" fog light to feplace the bent one (thanks jay) along with my other good one

either whiter halogen bulbs and hyperwhite fogs; or hids + yellow-or-hyperwhite fogs

of course id rather do the latter, but $ is a factor here. Diego how does the white hid kit look?

Brandon very nice, I like the conversion and all but its too much work for me and too much $$$$ and who knows how it will come out. My friend has 325is with ZKW and the same HID kit and boy the beam is better for sure. I love the way my kit outputs light though. I didn't adjust my headlights at all since I never or no one ever touched a screw on them so I ain't fu(king with them at all and the light in front of me is perfect. I'll take pics soon.

They look blue at beginning start up but as the bulb warms up it turns white like stock Benz and Bimmers.

also another note, my drivers side headlight is aimed towards the right a bit, so thats why the beams look close together.
