help me out

started my car today and popped the hood...since its a lil nippy in the mornings, i was able to see steam coming from the rocker cover (i think thats what its called..the cover with NISSAN on it that can be polished)...i'm thinking the seal might need to be replaced....am i right and if so, whats a estimated price on the seal....and a lil off topic, when in the hell is tha search gonna be accesible for those of us who CAN"T donate....that was the one good thing about the org....but since i have student loans as well as other bills that have to be paid..i'm not able to donate...which sucks..and in turn i can't use the search...which makes peeps ask the same questions over and over again, which makes other members mad, which also puts more data on the server, which takes up more room, which slows things down..makes me say hmmmmmmm!!!!

Where is the steam coming from? Between the valve cover and the head? That could be a bad valve cover gasket (bluish smoke=burning oil), which costs anywhere from $5 to $20, depending on what kind you get. If the steam is coming off of the valve cover, it could just be some dew evaporating. If the steam is coming from under the head, you may need a head gasket (lots o' fun...). Good luck.

nowhere near the head...just between the valve cover....where the lower 3 ignition coils are...it comes from there on cool mornings, but when the car warms up, it stops...hopefully its just the $5-20 job and not the head job...then again, i like head jobs..lol!!
