shift lock

I have a 92 auto and about a month ago i had a problem with my shift lock. Whenever I take my car out of park I have to press the button on the shifter and i have to press the little red shiftlock button. This is annoying does anyone know how this happened and how i can fix it. It started happening after I took it to pepboys for brake bad replacement, i dunno if that has anything to do with it though.

the wires underneath the shifter can corrode, causing the shift soloniod to stop working...new one is 70 bucks, but i imagine if u clean the contacts really well itll fix the problem...just take about the shifter and take a look inside
