injectors

Does anyone know where I can find fuel injectors at a good price. The cheapest price I could find was 90 bucks a piece. Thanks!

Re: injectors

Yeah, I need some too. Just got a quote for 5 to be changed - $1090!
I barely made that much last year. With remanufactured ones it's going to cost ~$700

injectors

Can someone give me an idea of the time I should expect it will take to swap out my injectors if I do it myself? These crackjack mechanics aroung here want to charge me $600 in labor! Thanks!

Re: injectors

its not to hard you will need some new gaskets though. it should take you bout 1- 1 1/2 hrs if your good.

http://members.csinet.net/tisch/maxima/ has a write up if you click on the fuel injector link on the main/FAQ page

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what's the definitive way to know if the injector's bad? My car surges alot and has alot of hesitation/missing. I can unplug 2-3 injectors before it makes a difference. When I measure them with the meter they all read about 11.7 ohms, which I belive is what they should be...

1-1/2 hours only if you are good and have the GREATEST LUCK IN THE WORLD! took me a few days...if the O-rings don't seal properly or you don't seat the injectors right, the process gets to be drawn out...my advice is when you do the injectors don't jump into it thinking "this is gonna be simple", if not done right it can turn into a tedious task! but its a perfectly doable DIY job, just take your time and don't get discouraged if when you put it all back together and the car is running like shat(I know I was ****ed off )...just go back and try again!

injectors

Thanks for all your help! I've ordered the injectors from directauto.com and got the rest the parts locally. I'm going to replace them next weekend.

Re: injectors

By the way, can anyone educate me as to anything else I should be repairing/replacing while I am replacing the injectors? Any insight would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I've got 4 good injectors that I pulled when I replaced all 6 in my '93 GXE a year and a half ago.

And on the flip side, I need 2 for my '89....

upper intake manifold gasket(s) and any cracked or hard/brittle hoses

some other random stuff, but helpful since the manifold is off would be to clean the TB, give the manifold at least a once over with a brush and carb cleaner, clean the IACV valve assembly, change the fuel filter for a good measure and replace the PCV valve (if not already).
