Cheapest Performace Mod

I was curious to know what the cheapest performace mod is, since I'm on a tight budget. One of my friends told me that getting an exaust system put in is the cheapest, but I'm not sure...

you can always begin with removing that stock air box and replacing it with a pop intake. full exhaust systems ain't cheap. just start with an intake and work your way up from there.

cheapest mod? advance the timing. its free.
second cheapest? throttle body coolant bypass..less than $3
intake is third and you'll notice a good difference from it (approx. $40). after that, probably underdrive pulley, removed AC belt and then its on to the exhaust but that gets costly.

loosen dist. bolts, turn in proper direction the specified amount, check with timing light..there ya go..obviously i know nothing about VGs.
on a VE, you loosen CAS, turn toward the rear of the car, tighten and call it a day.

whats a good intake filter to replace the stock air box?? the JWT pop charger seems a little on the high side or would it be better to replace the whole piping?

One good one that I know of by experience is the K&N cone air filter. It added a noticealbe amount of horsepower and all you have to do is " recharge " or clean it every now and then? I'm not sure on the exact mileage of when to clean it?

i went with a k&n filter and custom adapter to fit it on.. good mod... moderate price for good results.. you could go with a cheaper filter.. but i trust k&n's quality

at first i used an adapter from a 91-96 300zx but it didn't fit right and had a 4" opening (ours run on 3") so i made a custom one out of the old air box... but i recently ordered a k&n filter from warpspeed and dallas just threw in an adapter for me.
