turbo manifolds

Not sure this really matters at all to anyone but I would just like to tell everyone that the exhaust manifolds off of a VG30DET (notice single turbo) are nearly identical to the ones off of the VG30ET. They have the same ports and everything. Since the ports are the same size that would mean the ports on our engines are bigger than the ports on the VG30DETT. Not sure if that helps with anything but hey, it's some info that not everyone knows.

ah, forgot one more thing. the only difference between the VG30ET manifold and VG30DET manifold is the cross over piece with the flex pipe is a bit longer on the VG30DET to make up for the extra width being DOHC.

Re: turbo manifolds

there is an article about this over on zcar.com a while back that explains the same thing. bigger ports but still measly SOHC.

it's just kind of interesting that the DETT would have smaller ports than both the ET and DET engines. oh well... doesn't hurt me at all.

Interesting.. since the VE and VG30DE exhaust manifold gaskets were supposed to be the same thing, but the VE has different shaped ports than the VE. Oh well..

yeah, i've not been on much. many things going on. grandfather died, we're moving, we're packing for the move... it's crazy.

right now, it's at J&H Racing getting an exhaust manifold made due to the very, very tight space with the turbo in stock location. after that... i'm going to buy a haltech ecu more than likely and after that i'm going to get a 60-1 turbo

it's ok, i know i'll see him again some day.

as for the car, i actually swapped the engine in one week (spring break week) and it's just been sitting the rest of the time waiting for the custom parts.
