hey whats up man ....this is charlie from sonic..what is the reonance freuency??whats does that do? hope ur car get fixed soon
do you want the resonance frequency of the car itself, or the system IN the car? two completely different things.
If you want the frequency of the car itself, go to a car audio shop and ask if you can plug their RTA in the car, then watch the screen while you go thumping around in/on the trunk and lid. it'll help you find out some very useful information on where to add damping material and what frequencies the frame resonate at.
also play with adjusting the tension on the bolt that holds your spare tire down. torquing that will cause the trunk to tighten up (just like the **** on a guitar string). the tighter you make that bolt, the higher the frequency that the trunk floor will resonate.
it's a cheap/easy way to adjust your car to tune it a bit for maximum SPL, or do damp out frequencies you don't want.

He wants the cabin resonant frequency, which can be calculated pretty easily (1/4 wavelenth) do a search. You can then tune the subwoofer enclouse to that freq. There is a lot of test/tune involved, most people dont understand that. I've seen some really stupid people in car sound competitions, with full blown systems and not knowing anything about resonance.
You can use an el-cheapo radio shack db meter. Testing needs to be done at a low volume b/c the microphone will bottom out and give inaccurate results. There is also an issue with the cross over freq. built into the db meter not being low enough. There are a couple sites on the www that show you how to lower the crossover point in the meter, I've done it to the one that I have and it worked fine. The mod is not necessary IMO, you can still get an accurate peak db reading for competition with the stock meter. Use a freq. disc you can then find the freq that plays the loudest (for that particular setup
).
have fun..
