Not The Average E-36 Question

Hey guys,
I know that e-36 swap threads are all over the place but i couldn't find a specific thread for my question.
so here goes:
Yesterday i was trying to take apart the e-36 headlight assembly using a heat gun and a puddy scraper(to help pry out the lense).
I need to remove the clear lense, bulb cones in the back and glass circles. i'm doing this because i want to clean and polish everything as well as add in angel eyes.
I must have been going at this for 45 minutes! and this **** isn't coming apart???
has anyone here taken the whole assembly apart? if so I need some advice. this is weird because the heat gun should work.

any suggestions are appreciated.

Euro spec with the angle eyes already installed is the easiest way to go.

i used a hairdryer, and they came out fine.. just heat it and pry it and keep doing it.. then you can just push the glass out once you get the cone off..

well i guess i'll give it another shot....but it's gonna take quite some time to finish.

i'll probably also try asking some bimmer forum people.

once it gets hot enough it should just pull apart, just do it section by section and pry it with a screwdriver...
