Please Help to Diagnose... Coolant Leaking...

I had coolant leaking from the passenger side of the car from right around where the sway bar sits. Coolant was on the ground in a straight line perpendicular to the front sway bar. Looked under the car and area looks moist. Have not driven car in a week, and after I started it up and let idle for two minutes, I reved it to make sure oil was fully into system and noticed the leak. Checked temp, car is not running hot. Resovoir still had plenty of coolant left, and no visible leaks from the top front or rear of engine. Any ideas??? A bad seal possibly?

I just noticed the same thing with MY car recently. I can't really help ya, but I'm hoping someone might help BOTH of us.

Yeah, thanks for the support... I hope it is just something minor...
I think it is a seal. I haven't had a chance to jack the car up yet, but perhaps this weekend...

i'm going to guess either a failing water pump or a leak in a heater/coolant hose. jack up the car and crawl under and if it's wet around the water pump.

when you park the car there should be no leak...heat swelled up the seal.

Thanks DanNy... hopefully I'll get it fixed this weekend... what is the usual cost on the water pump?

After I get this straight, I'll send out the $$ for the shift boot.

the pump is just $100 if I remember right. The PITA is that you need to remove the belts and timing - that's what will cost you if you go to a shop

You have to remove the timing to replace the water pump? I didn't know that and I had my water pump replaced a couple months back. So I guess my timing could easiluy be off. Now, if I only had a timing gun and knew how to use it.

for VG you should replace the T-belt while you're there.
VE you don't have to do anything else but fan belts.

Problem Solved...

Luckily it was just the upper hose that had a hole in it.
It was leaking directly onto the belts, so now I have to replace some belts, but other than that everything else checked out ok. Thanks again for all of the help and sugestions.

I have a TSB on this issue but I don't know how to post a .pdf file.
Maybe I can send it by email.
