My '89 GXE speedometer moves at engine speed half the time. I can have the car in park, rev the engine, and the speedometer needle moves like in is synchronized with the tach. Has anybody else seen this? Thanks

 

I don't know if the Maximas have this same part, but I used to have an Acura Legend that did the same thing. It turned out that the vehicle speed sensor needed to be replaced. The thing was reading 80 mph at stoplights, and the odometer was spinning!
