Maxima info from australia

Hi...

this is my first post here.

I recently bought a 92model maxima with the vg30 and auto tranny.
(as far as i can tell its te same as the SE)
and i have been looking for info...

it has black guages not white and it has the euro spec turn signals on the front.

it also has a different front grille and rear panel between lights.

its 8:00 pm here now but i will take some photos tomorrow and show u all the different bits of the car.

i cant get anything for the car here as the max wasnt a popular car in Australia.

i may be able so source bits like grilles and euro spec lights for you guys.

Hey Maxima Aus, a fellow Aussie maxima owner.

I've owned my 1990 Nissan Maxima Ti since October last year...

Pics are avaliable here (http://gframe.com/maxima)

I feel your pain whit the lack of aftermarket parts avaliable for the Max down here in australia.

Modifications:
- K&N Pod Air Filter
- Magnaflow Straight Through Exhaust
- Pioneer Head unit (the cheap model DEH-1350 i think)
- Pioneer 6x9 Speakers (rear)

The only modifications that I have planned for the car are:
- Lower (Will probably just compress the springs)
- Upgrade front speakers to Pioneer splits or normal speakers (depending on funds).
- Mags (this is a real maybe!)
- Strut bar (if i can find one!)
- Upgrade catback piping (wonder if this will be helpful)
- Upgrade/Install custom Y-Pipe (made by a muffler place coz there are no aftermarket parts here and it will cost me a ****load to get one form OS!).

Where abouts in Australia are you from?

If you find anywhere that sells maxima parts tell us!!!

Hey, man don't feel too bad too. I live in New Zealand & the same goes here. Got a 93 S, but I have done some work to my car. Can't get a FTSB over here for the ride. Hey Chavez, hows things with you? About to go to the states & get sum euro clears & the clear turn signals for the front bumpers too. The last thing I'm going to do is paint her. Hey, we need to keep in touch guys, we are so few done here in the southern hemisphere.

Hey wass up? I have you Aussies to thank for my amber turn signals that I ordered. They are not offered in America. I recently purchased them online at ozeparts.com. Really impressed with the products. I have a question for you guys. Do you have any amber corner lenses for your maximas' down under? I looked on the site and even contacted the local dealer here in Hawaii with no luck.

I didn't know they made AGX for the 3rd gen, I think you meant Gr-2's, are the shocks silver or red?

the only red shocks I know available in the states that are red, are the KONI shcoks. KYB AGX are red but they are not made for our cars. Kyb Gr-2's which are made for our cars come in the color silver. So if they're red they must be KONI's

Hey guyz im an Aussie dude too...

yeah its sux big time, cant get anything at all for my car. I had a water pump blow up a little while ago cost like $400. I was spewin bigtime.
So far all ive done is put a sony head unit in and a nice big chunky exhaust that sounds wikid, next on my list is a descent set of wheels, but all the ones ive chosen wont fit a maxima, so im still on the hunt.

I got my car of some old guy about 6 months, one owner so its in mint condition inside and out. it goes like a dream, i drove it from adelaide (where i live) to brisbane last month, never missed a beat or used a drop of oil.

I just wanna say maximas rock, even though everyone tells me i own a gramdpas car, just wait till im finsih with it and ill blow off evry1 in there crappy commodores!

Even at stock you can easily beat a supercharged V6 commodore, and just keep up with one outfitted with a V8 Gen III engine...

I'm not sure how valid this is but i've tried once and these were the results...
