Sorry about the double post. Longtime lurker, first time poster. Apparantly the board was down when I clicked on submit the first time. The search function is not working for me either. Here's my question:

I bought a 95-99 front strut bar from courtesy nissan for my 93 gxe. The people assured me that it would fit but it doesnt fit over a/c hose. Is it just me or is it the wrong bar? What bars fit? Please Help.

I would believe that the fifth generation strut braces fit correctly. The 00-03 models if I remember correctly.

yeah, you need the 2000-2003 bar if you have a VE....there is a 89-94 specifc bar made for the VG....

A lot of us on this board ended up with the same problem with that AC hose. I think most of us just bent it out of the way since it only has to move about half an inch. It has worked well so far. This is just in case you don't want to return the bar.

He's got a VG. 93 GXE = VG. I'm not sure if it will work.

Even on the VE's the 5th gen strut bar slightly interferes with the AC hose. I just pushed mine out of the way.

There's no way of putting it on without bending the hose? I would have to bend it a lot and I dont know how good of an idea that is.

I guess it really depends on the bar you have. I only had to move my AC hose about half to three quarters of an inch. If you don't think you want to bend it then I guess you need to look for another bar that gives more clearance.

The one I got off Ebay didn't need much in the way of clearing the A/C hose. Maybe a 1/4 inch, if that.

i got a Stillen brace specific to the VG engine. it was lots of cash but it looks boss. and feels it. if you seldom use the A/C, then bend it. i don't use my A/C much anyway as it robs power that is already hard to come by with the VG. you made a good choice to go with a FSTB, though. great mod.
