FSTB question

Just got mine a second ago, I'm facing the car, do the screws turn clockwise or counter clockwise?

Sorry search isn't working

You could be facing any direction and they would still be counterclockwise unless you're upside down...then i guess it'd be clockwise...j/p with ya man.

I'm defeated.

I've been going at these screws for almost 2 days, even took it to my friends house and no dice. My old *** screws won't come off and are worn down now. I was thinking of sawing 'em off and replacing them, good idea?

When I installed my fstb the bolts on the strut mount broke so I had to saw off the nut and bolt across the middle to get it off. I ended up replacing my springs, struts, and mounts for the heck of it after trying to install my fstb.

nut splitter would probably work, you can get one at pepboys or any hardware store
it is basically a point that you push into the nut (using a socket) and it cuts through the side of the nut

or try using some vice grips maybe

First time I hear of anyone having trouble with the strut mount bolts. When I did my suspension and FSTB install they came off with no problem and they were on pretty tight also. I think I used a 13 or 14mm socket where its pretty snug around the bolt and won't allow it to slip and strip.

The nuts broke the f'n nut splitter, lol.

"First time I hear of anyone having trouble with the strut mount bolts."

Yeah I know, seems like it's impossible to have problems with 6 bolts, easy 14mm job, but my nuts stripped and they're now round with no grip.

it broke the nut splitter?

get some good vice grips, lock that thing on that nut hella tight and see if can get it off.

or go to sears and get some of that rounded bolt/nut remover. see if you can get it out with those. grab a can of penetrating oil while you at it. it may help you with future projects

good luck
