lowering car, confused about struts etc
#1
hey, I'm going to lower my 92 maxima prolly 1.25 or 1.5 in, something like that. I've read they there are certain parts I need after I do that..like..struts, cambers, or something. I've spent a lot of my time in car audio, and just got into car preformance, can you enlighten me thanks!

The springs will do the lowering on your car, but lower springs are stiffer than stock, causing your struts to wear out faster. Since you've got a 3rd gen, your struts are already probably worn out if you haven't replaced them yet- so you'll need new struts. Since you have to remove the struts to change the springs, you might as well do everything at the same time.
for brand recommendaations, I would go with either stock Nissan replacements, or Tokico HP struts. Dunno cost on stock replacements, but Tokicos are about $300 for the set.
I paid $490, shipped for Eibach springs and Tokico struts through a group deal I set up with Stillen.
Stillen's "regular" prices are a little higher than everyone else, but they give good service and I've always been treated extremely well when I buy anything from them.
If/when you call them, ask for Adam Hume. he's the guy I've dealt with and many others here know him too. I don't have their phone number right off hand, but it's on their website somewhere.
you won't need anycamber adjustment kits unless you lower your car more than 1.5". (Eibach springs will give you about 1.25", sus Tech springs are about 1.5", and Intrax are about 1.75".)
hope that helped!

The differences in ride height are barely noticeable, but the different springs make a huge difference. the Eibach are much stiffer and provide a "sporty" ride. the sus Tech springs will give you a little more drop, but they ride much softer. almost like stock from what I've heard.
I would recommend the Eibachs because of all the weight you've got in your trunk. I've got ~350lb os stereo in my trunk, and with the eibachs you can barely tell. (see my sig pic). with stock springs, my rear actually rode lower than it does now. I used to scrape my exhaust when backing out of my drive- with Eibachs I don't scrape anymore.
I dunno how much softer the ST springs are, but I'd say go with the Eibachs, just due to haveing the system in bag- they'll do more against the back end sagging.
