Wheels, wheels, wheels

I'll be buying some wheels in the next couple of weeks and I've been checking out all the websites, but all of the wheel packages I've seen come with 205/45-17. I know the 3rd gen Faq's say the recommended size is 235/45-17 or 215/50-17. How much would the 205/45's affect my Max?

most of those sites that offer "packages" give you those are 205/45 Honda sizes, DON'T buy those. they usually allow you to upsize to 215 or 225 for $100 more, but DON'T go 205/45, too small for the Max

Ok, so I'm looking a roughly an extra $100.00. Now, if choosing the wheels were just that simple. I know that this is my ride and my decison, but does anyone have any ideas on a good looking wheel. I'm wanting to do silver and something with a lip, but I'm confused other than that.

I need some opinions, which one of these would look the best on my white Max. I know it's my ride and decison, and it will be my decison I just want opinons. Thanks

try stock Skyline wheels. any of them look great on the 3rd gen. i favor the R32 GTR rims. use those and get BFGoodrich KDW 225/50/ZR16. and lower your car about 1.5" or so. remember, too, that the apsect ratio number (the sidewall height) is going to be relative to the tire's width. that is, a 205/50/16 will be thinner looking than a 225/50/16 eventhough they are both "50." when the manufacturer offers a line of tires (with a fixed sidewall height number) that get wider and wider, from say 205 - 235, they must raise the sidewall height, by default, to accomodate the extra structural mass/intergrity of the tire relative to the air pressure. this applies across the board to any tire make. so, then, the fat get fatter, the thin get thinner.

Cool, the RSF's were the ones I've had my eye on, but I didn't wanted to explore other options. And I definetly want to keep the wide low profile look. Thanks guys

Ok, Last time. I've decided on 17's but still can't decide on a wheel, so I was wanting to see if I could get some opinions. Picking a wheel is harder than I thought it would be, or maybe I'm just to indecisive. Thanx

be mindful that wheels with either make the car look really awesome, or utterly wrong and awkward. wheels are the singlemost drastic visual modification for any car besides paint and a body kit. wheels seriously determine the car's character or personality. some wheels that work on this car may not at all work on that car. i agree that simple 5 spokes look best on the 3rd gen. i favor wheels with a prominent lip. like Work Meister S2's. or Nismo LMGT-1's or 4's. of course, this is up to the beholder.

I agree you have to carefully research what type of rims looks best on the max. I go with 215/45/17 Dunlop's but I might go with 235/45/17 this summer.

Any of them will look great, but not all will fit. Plus, those suckers are expensive and hard to find. You can't just go to a wheel shop and order them up.

If you find some, let me know.

the bolt patterns and offsets for BNR32, BCNR33, BNR34 are all the same. however, BCNR33 is 17 X 9; BNR34 is 18 X 9. those are wide and may or may not rub. there have been others on these forums that have cited 9" wide rims not rubbing. but i have not personally experienced that width. the BNR32'sm the 8" wide, will fit. i have those. LMGT1's are 10" wide, i believe. i never actually cited those particular wheels as maxima-usable, but i can see how a reader could be lead astray by the mere mentioning of them in this thread. the bolt pattern, too, for the LM's will not match. i kept thinking of the skyline too much, revealing my true desire. the overall look of the LM's and Works is, to me, appropriate. i will check out the evo5's and post an opinion.

i got my skyline wheels by hanging out on the skylinesdownunder.com forums. there are loads of great ideas that can be used from there. it is worth hunting for quality, IMO.

I am thinking of ******* my 94 GXE also... I want the low profile look but don't want to lower the vehicle any. This is my work car and I don't want to do too many mods to it. I of course agree that the 5 star wheel looks the best. I was wondering if there are any negatives about wheelmax.com? Does anyone have pics of their rides that are not lowered with 235/45/17's on it? Please send to me... Thanks...
