max not reving above 4 grand in gear
max not reving above 4 grand in gear
ok I am one of many who have that stalling problem that no one knows how to fix but I think this is something different. I noticed about 4 months ago that my car wouldn't rev above 4 4.5 thousand rpm's with out it start missing or cuting out completley. I took the car to my mechanic (a retired nissan mechanic)and told him about it. so we poped the hood and he stated pulling the throtle cable, reving it up high and one it would start missing when he let off. after that we found out which cylinder it was and swaped the plug and coil with on of the other cylinder and it still started missing on the same cylinder. he told me the only thing he could think of was the ingition regulator or possibly the crank angle censor. so I found the parts used, when I swaped them the car wouldn't start missing when I reved it high just sitting still not in gear. but if I'm on the road and a wind out the gears around 4,5 grand it will start missing. the other day I was on the highway (not racing anyone) so I got it up to fith gear and just see what it would do if i got on it. I cold up to about 95 and the car acted like something was holding it back and it wouldn't rev any higer, I was probably at about 5, 5.5 thousand rpm's. and that wasn't with the peddle to the floor. when I pushed it to the floor i could the engine got louder put the car did rev any higher or go any faster.
I don't konw what the hell is going on, any idea's?
it's a 92 ve i've replaced the throttle sensor, plugs, ignition regulater, and crank angle sensor. oh and I'm pretty sure my o2 sensor is bad, so I will replace it soon.
some info from you guys would be great, thanks
