i was just at maximadriver.com and i was looking thru their faq and I noticed that they mad a reference to a Front Mounted Intake System. I just wanted to know what that is, how it works, who sells it, and do they make it for our generation.

I think that company went out of business...

there was a discussion about it before not on here though, but I think it was like an intercooler style "collector" with piping that led back to the MAF and into the TB, never seen it though so I'm just going by what I heard!

Basically, the FMIS is a tube that goes from your MAF sensor to your front fender where there is a box-shaped filter. It's almost like a cheap look-a-like intercooler. I have never used this product before but I have seen it and I would suspect that on rainy days, there would be problems of water entering the FMIS. The FMIS is available for the 4th gen's but not the 3rd gens. Personally, I think it's marketing ploy to get people to have "intercooler look-a-like intake". I bet the Place Racing CAI will gain you more HP/Torque over the FMIS.
