Just a few questions
Does anyone know FOR SURE what the engine code for the Infiniti J30 is? I have several sites telling me it's DOHC, while this site http://www.freshalloy.com/cars/nissa...n_engines.html says it's a VG? Just thought it might be a good engine swap possibility based on it's 210 hp. Has this ever been discussed before - if so, please excuse my ignorance...
What size socket will I need to remove my crank pulley when I replace my timing belt?
Is an under drive pully worth the cost? If I get one, I seem to remember reading I'll need to use a different timing belt - if so, what belt? Seeing as this will be my first timing belt replacement effort, will an under drive pulley and different belt dramatically increase my risk of failure - in other words...., is it MUCH more difficult to do?
I know that's a lot, but I appreciate the input and insight you guys offer. Thanks.

Yeah..., I see that now. Was previously under the impression that the VE was the DOHC and VG was always SOHC - guess that's not the case tho (learn something new every day....)
I'll have to do some more research into compression and such, but in theory, I wonder if a timing belt, heads, computer swap would be all that's needed to get a stock VG to 210 hp??? Man......, that would be nice...
Doubt it'd be that easy tho....

on a positive note: i've heard that the infinti j-30 with that engine had tonnes of problems with flooding. that's definately not an issue with the vg30e.
