body kit bumper replacement

I got in a wreck a couple of days ago and my front bumper completely split from top to bottom on the left side. I was wondering if the stillen bodykit would replace that bumper or would I have to get a new bumper and the stillen kit?

new bumper and kit. The front lip just attaches to your bumper

yeah, my car got in a wreck a couple weeks ago also, and on the left side of the bumper, near the drivers door, there is a crack from the bottom to the top, and the drivers door and skirt is dented and pushed in too. i know the body shop can fix the dent in the door but what about the skirt, and the cracked bumper, will i have to replace the whole thing or can the shop fix that too??

i would really reccomend replacing the bumper. im sure the shop could fix it, but it wouldnt look right and may ruin the structural integrity of the bumper. its supposed to be a little flexible.

since you are heading to the shop anyways to repair the dent, you may want to consider going to a local junk yard and picking up a bumper. you could some of the legwork in prepping it too. strip and sand it so that the shop will have it all ready for primer and paint.

if you were to get a new bumper, it would already be primered, and it will obviously cost more than the salvaged bumper.

either way, replace, dont repair that damaged bumper.

a body shop could fix the bumper by doing some plastic work...i wouldnt recommend it if its completely split though..like walka said it could ruin the structural integrity...call some junkyards and try to find one

the damage on my bumper is not completely torn from top to bottom, its not a complete tare, only half way, but the bumper is still in place, it doesnt fall off or anything

I used a 3M bumper repair kit one time on a bumper. It turned out real nice. I also filled in the holes for the front tag on my bumper with the kit. I think its like $30 for the kit which is a 2 part flexable epoxy or something.

as far as structural integrity...its not a big deal since the bumper cover is not used in anyway for impact. Its just a plastic cover for the real bumper which is an impact foam surrounding a steel bumper bar.
