manual transmission "lag"

done a few searches with no luck....lately when I am at WOT my RPMs seem to out rev the engine...can anyone tell me if this is spelling the end of my transmission Right now I don't have an honest mechanic and would appreciate some insight before having someone look at it.

Thanks

more like your clutch is going out. get ready to spend a few bucks.

(buy a Fidanze Flywheel from me and look for clutches in the groub buys forums and you'll be great!

Thanks Matt. I forgot to mention that my car constantly pops out of 1st gear and at idle there is a continual bearing type noise until the clutch is engaged. From searching is seems consistant with input shaft bearing problem. I have thought about getting a flywheel and clutch but if the transmission needs to be replaced I will probably sell the Max and get a new car. If it's not the tranny, as soon as have the cash I will replace the clutch and flywheel and will take one of your lightened ones.

Thanks,
James
