HID question

Got my HID system installed today!! Looks really good. Infact WAY brighter that those BMWs' and Mercedes!! One problem!! They are so blue. I got the 7000k series. I know that there are different bulbs and I will most definately be changing them out! Don't need another ticket!
The question that I have is one where is a good place to search for these bulbs? And the second question is the lower the "K" series the whiter (is that even a word?) the color is right?
Thanks ahead of time!

Well 4300k is what comes stock on the 2002-2003 5th gen Maxima's so the lower the "K" the whiter. You can get bulbs from a lot of places, do a search on google or yahoo.

interesting from what i have heard the hid's in3rd gens were a bad idea for two reasons. 1) the halogen filiment sits horozontal and the "mirrors in the housing are designed to reflect best with that. the HID sits vertical so it dosent reflect as well. 2) No high beams

hey Diego, I should have asked to see your HIDs. I saw pitures, but I want to see how they are in person. Now that you've seen my car, you think I should to the E36 conversion?

E36 is a nice conversion and putting HIDs in those bad boys would be even cooler. Go for it Clark.

not true. the lower the "k" the lower the color temperature; the yellower it gets.

No high beams is right......but if you get HIDs who needs high beams? It replaces them and then some!! Doesn't reflect well? It reflects crazy good!! The beams are set in a good position where you got great light and not high beam everyone all the time.
Back to my original question....so which "k" rating is the best for white without entering the "blue" color? Got the 7000K some serious blue. Well maybe not crazy but looks like you got hyper white bulbs (blue bulb) but a hell of a lot brighter!! Maybe 6000K?

yes, you need high beams. there is a reason cars have high beams and hids....they are used for different purposes.

get < 6000k bulbs

6000k still has a hint of blue, if you want something like the stock 2002-2003 Maxima's then get a 4300k kit which is white.
