Hi, I've searched for a while here on the org, the web and my book. But I can't find a perfect answer. Where is the Intake Air Sensor/IAT. I have a VG motor with a CAI and I can't seem to find it. I know it's there somewhere and I've read different things about it. If you could please help me out, that would be great. Thanks in advance!!!

I've seen a sensor on the 95-96 maxima's, but I dont think 3rd gens have it. If they are not referring to the MAFS then that may be it.
Hi, when I was reading up on it. It was mentioned that some cars have a combintaion plug for the MAF and IAT sensor. Now, is this just the one plug that is made to be both or is there another plug joined right off from the MAF sensor?

Im sure that the VG does not have this sensor. There is the AICV-Air Idle Control Valve (i think thats what its called) that is located to the front right of the intake manifold. Maybe thats what its referring to?

I don't know. I looked through the Haynes book and it shows an IAT sensor, but I think it's showing a new Maxima or something. I read that some vehicles have a combination plug for the MAF and IAT. And that some of the wires connected to the MAF are actually working as the IAT. Does that make any sense?

Makes perfect sense. Your MAF does three different things. It measures Intake Air Temperature, Air Speed, and Air Density. They use the MAF to save money because it replaces atleast 3 or more sensors needed to run a Fuel injected car. If you had an old maxima they might have one, but as far as I have seen all the 3rd gen has the MAF! Originally posted by 94maximahurricane

Hope this Helps.
Yeah, that does make sense. That's what I was thinking at first, but I wasn't quite sure. Does anyone know which wires are being used for the IAT sensoring? Thanks again to everybody.
