i have a 90 maxse and the back speakers sound liek doookie, the fronts sound good, but when you add any volume to the backs they are all distorted, which is not typical bose style... Now i know of someone who is gettin rid of some amps and speakers from a 89 max.. do you guys know if they will work out ok?? if they are the same?? I know that i have tried to put in speakers from a 93 before and the connection was a little different, but that was only the speaker not the amp as well... thanks...

I have posted this many times before, but I am willing to keep posting it. I guess you could call me a Bose expert when it comes to the systems in Maximas. Take the two rear 6X9's out and take a real good look at them. See if there's excessive wear on them like rips, stretching, etc. If there is, then the problem is probably not your amps, it's just the fact that the speakers themselves are blown. The problem you describe is exactly how mine sounded when I blew them. I was stupid and paid the Nissan dealer and a$$ load of money to replace them. By the way, all you have to do to get them out is undo the bolts and take out the actual speaker itself, you don't have to take out the back seat and get the whole mounting unit out. In either case, whether it's the amps or the 6X9's themselves you can e-mail Dave at http://www.davescoolstuff.com and tell him about your problem and he will tell you what is broken; he good does work on Bose systems and I will vouch for that (he fixed my CD player). He has a 24hr. tunraround time. He can fix whatever's wrong with your Bose system.

BOSE WOES

I sent my rear 6X9's to Dave and he did an awesome job replacing the speakers. Mine had sun damage, and the new speakers sound better than the originals did when the car was new. I would highly recommend Dave because he does great work and his services are inexpensive.
