i know that the jet hot flakes off, but i also know that the stainless steal does rust too. is it worth paying the extra $115 more for the stainless steal?

stainless does rust...i agree..but it doesn't rust as easily as mild steel with jet hot coating. eveluate what u need..(weather conditions, length of ownership) and buy according to that. if it snows and wet all the time..the stainless may be the better choice than the jet hot. i believe performance difference is very little between the two.

I have a custom y made from mild steel and its survived one NE winter so far. No real signs of rust either. Cost ~$100 less than Cattmans too...
