new window regulator

i replaced the window regulator but was wondering if i should put grease on it. I have read some have and some havent. I think i should grease it but dont know what kind of grease would be good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it goes up and down without binding (hesitating) or making strange noises then I would say leave it alone. The ones I put in were already lubed/greased from the factory.

I had a similar problem and it wasn't grease. It is the position of the top two bolts on the regulator. Do a search and I had a discussion with someone earlier. The top two bolts for the regulator have room to move them a little ways side to side. If you window is having trouble going up, look at which side seems to be sticking, then move the top two bolts the opposite way, just a tad. Mine wouldn't go all the way up, stopping about two inches short. After I moved the regulator over about 1/8" it went up fast and strong. This frustrated the cr@p out of me.

Red92MaxSE is right. It sounds like an alignment problem. Take the door panel off. Loosen the four bolts that hold it in just a bit. Roll the window all the way up. Tighten the top two bolts. Not final tight, but tight enough to keep top from moving for a bit. Roll the window down. Now tighten the bottom two. Roll the window up. It should work fine. If not keep adjusting
