Make car louder.....

I know this has been said somewhere on here but I couldn't find it. It sounds like my car got a lil quieter after a put on the DTM style muffler after I got my OBX jacked. Is there anyways I can make my car a lil louder and/or a deeper throatier tone?? Please no flames!

pardon my ignorance, but what is DTM and OBX? they are prolly things i have heard of, but not put that way. if i knew what you meant, i may be able to give some of my two cents worth philosophy. BTW, my car is loud. and i like it that way. a y-pipe is the quickest way, literally and figuratively, to get whay you are looking for w/out swapping the muffler.

you can try removing the resonator, but it might be mad loud after you do that.

there comes a point when you just got to do something and see for yourself. i have discovered this little axiom since i have been visiting here for about 18 months. i admit that i cannot avoid mistakes. and i cannot rely on others to show me the way all of the time. if cash is the issue, put the y-pipe on it and just do it piece by piece. you will notice a change immediately. now go do something. and you did. so welcome to the merry-go-round. (your y-pipe may sound tinny without the resonator, but don't just take my word for it).

Just K&N with cut air box. I'm thinking of getting a cone air filter next but would it be as good as the K&N if it wasn't from the K&N, just a cheaper filter that is a cone filter, would that help with sound and etc.?

a cut out is something the hot rodders used to do. Take a pipe or something with a removable cap on it and weld it in place right after the headers (Y on the Maxima) that way it is quiet when you normally drive it and if you want to you can take the cap off of it to make it open exhaust which will be really loud.

Ok, I think I am going to just go pick a cone filter. What would be a good place to pick one of these up?
