need some help!!

need some help!!

my mechanic says my car needs a new air flow meter..but everywhere he checked they only have it for the gxe...i got an 92se...do any of you guys have an idea where we could check...need all the help possible thanks..

whats up man will it fit a 92se..with the bigger motor...that goes 145mph...i dont really know..but my mechanic checked around and couldnt find one..right now am in md with the max..and its acting up so i dont kno if ill come back to ny without getting it fix

um no. they are they same who are you gonna belive the org members or the mechanic that is getting paid to just fix your max. like i said i have an extra.

oh and let me rephrase it.

VE30DE & VG30E = same MAF.

Just so you dont think I was talking about the 89-91 SEs in my first statement.

I have both. (92GXE 93SE)

yall know i gotto belive my org members...well am in md right now and my car is really acting up because of that...so i might just get it done by a mechanic down here...what am wondering where is the air flow meter located....and could i install it myself...also would it be good to take one off another max at a junk yard...because am in md trying to find a cheap way back to nj...

um 80 shipped for a good maf is cheap.

you know what how about 70 shipped. and yes you can take it and install it yourself.. all you need is about 10-15 minutes, and its right there. follow where the filter is at then you see a cylinder with wires coming into it. just unclip it and take out the bolts and do the same thing in reverse. simple. a child can do it.

WTF!!!..now i changed the air flow meter and the problem is still there....this is what happens..when in gear while pressing the gas redal the car will sometimes start jerking...then shuts off..dont know whats wrong with it..my mechanic said it needed as new air flow meter i try that and its still happening

i hope you didnt pay the price of a new maf. check your injectors. they could be shot. mines was and i was only running on 5 cyclinders. also do a compression test. if all else fails, take it to another mechanic.

yeah it wasnt too expensive i got it for 30...because we knew the guy at the parts shop..but thanks am gonna have my mechanic check those.
