Bose Stereo Question?
Bose Stereo Question?
My girlfriends 89 Max SE is having some stereo problems.
Sypmtoms:
1.only front right speaker works, but often cuts out randomly
2.the rear speaker harness that plugs into the amp is getting power and also a music signal(i hooked up a spar speaker to it)
So maybe all of the ampls but the front right are blown, but that doesnt explain the random periods of no sound from the one working speaker, the display stays on constantly. I think im just going to replace the entire thing. any suggestions?

My 1993 had similar problems. The right side speakers would work, but only occasionally. Also had problems with the power antenna working sporadically. The head unit was bad, as it turns out. Check out http://www.carstereohelp.com. They are a Bose repair place down in FL. They have a page on their site that tells you exactly what goes wrong with your particular model and how much it will cost to rebuild it. Mine would have been around $125+SH, but I opted to buy a new head unit on Ebay instead. It fixed all of my head unit woes, but now my CD player is being finnicky! It doesn't want to play any cd's except the Cranberries... "INYAWHEEEEAAAD! INYAWHEEEEAAAAD! ZAH-AHM-BAY! ZAH-AHM-BAY! ZAH-AHM-BAY! BAY! BAY! BAY!" - (I just leave it turned off altogether most days!!!) Good luck with it!
