How to remove the dynamic weight thing...

So I was removing a lot of weight from the car tonight in an effort to get ready for an upcoming track visit and I ran across the infamous black cylinder thing in the trunk. I'm pretty sure it is some type of dynamic weight that transfers torsion in the frame from one side of the rear to the other, but when I tried to remove it, I could not find where the bolts would drop out. The bolts are inserted from below, but I did not see where on the undercarriage. For those that have removed this, how did you get the bolts out of wherever they fall?

they land on top of the gas tank. don't pull them out. loosen them and remove the weight, but don't let the bolts fall through. when you get the weight off, simply put the nuts back on on top of them with a large washer so they don't fall through the floor. otherwise, you get to remove your gas tank to get them back in.

might be a steering difference between the two model where nissan felt that a counter weight was needed to help the gxe rotate.

Good Luck man. Keep representing automatics. When the weather cools down, you might see me doing something on the track too even in this higher elevation.
