I would buy it in a heartbeat. The new tranny alone is worth almost that much, especially if it is an automatic. Somewhere on one of the Maxima sites, I saw a posting that lined out what to look for when buying a Max. Check 4dsc.com, and some of the other links.

Ur askin a bunch of Maxima Nuts if you should bye a maxima, Of course u should if it has no rust over the rear quarter panels then you should go for it and as broncoguy says the tranny is almost worth that if it is a true new tranny and not rebuilt. Good Luck With Your New MAX

thats definitely a great deal unless there is major rust, or like 400k miles on it.
Even if it needs some work its worth the investment.

I am going to say something stupid, but I must. Is the milage in miles or kilometers? 409k miles seems not right for a '94. That is an average of over 45k miles a year for 9 years! Not to say that is not possible. Even if that is the case, the miles HAVE TO BE all highway, no stress miles. Shoot, if all else is in excellent condition as you have described, I think I would still jump on it.

However, if the mileage is measured in kilometers, the mileage would be about half of that. As a matter of fact, 409k kilometers = 254000 miles.

409k, lmao... What was your reaction when he said that? If I heard that I would drop the phone! Even if it is KM 254k is still A TON of miles.
