Hi,

I have a 91 GXE with 364K Kilometres. I went to a repair shop in Maryland recently, and they wanted to know the exact mileage on the car? I asked them to convert it, but the repair man insisted the mileage was 364K miles..... what counts - is he right?

Given that the car was originally built for Canada, does the odometer reading refer to Kilometres or miles driven?

Also, do any of you know of a good mechanic in the Baltimore area?

kilometers. no car on this earth from 91 will have 364k MILES unless it's been driven non-stop since it rolled off the line.

i believe there was a 3rd gen not sure what year with over 500,000 on it

Tell the guy at the repair shop to go back to school. Take the number of Kilometers and multiply by .62 to get the corresponding miles. In this case, 364K Kilometers = 225.68K Miles.

My brother's gotta '91 stanza equivalent with over 400 000 kilometers on the clock - original engine, second auto & not enough maintenance... his previous car was a '86 Nissan sentra with over 300 000 kilometers... Nissan engines are strong!
