1990 Transaxle/CV joints

Driver side sound rubbles when accelerating. Checked and CV boot is ripped. Also clunks like a worn universal joint on a rear wheel car when accelerating. Believe this indicates the axle assembly is shot and should be replaces? Does this sound correct? Also would like to know how the axial seal is removed and assembled? Did not see instruction in any of the tech information.

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, you need to remove the halfshaft and replace the boot, or the halfshaft itself.

replace it all. everything. just go to NAPA and get the remanufactured CV axles from ~300 i think. there whoudl be a 160 core change on em too. I just put em in. do it before vibrations start to get anything else.
