Nissan Maxima SOHC Front Strut Brace

was on ebay and ran into this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2431403813

what i was wondering is this some P.O.S item and are there any better ones than this one or are they all the same.

also one of my friends was telling me that by adding a cheap front strut bar will in some way mess up your suspension by adding extra stress on the body but he said that only if you get a cheap one.

i think some members on here have bought those ebay FTSB and are happy with them. i personally think they're all the same. their main goal is just to stiffen up the frame of the car so the frame won't twist etc. ask your friend how a tower brace will put extra stress on the body, regardless on who made them.

as long as it fits, it won't hurt your car. Maybe it's a pound or two heavier than some, but unless you are into SERIOUS racing, I doubt that matters.

It's kind of like buying clothes. A $5 T-shirt from Wal-Mart serves the same purpose as a $30 T-shirt from Ralph Lauren. Mostly you are paying for a name. Maybe there is a SLIGHT advantage in quality, but none really noticeable.

just my $.02

mine is the exact same style and it is farely light. aluminum with steel end pieces. I had to remove the nuts on the main shaft to get mine to fit though

ROFLMAO!!! Don't EVER listen to that guy again. He has absolutely no CLUE what he's talking about. tell him to come up with some sort of solid proof of that statement, but until he does, he's a total complete moron.

Matt's right. The FTSB will actually lesson the stress on the strut towers by equalizing the load between the two. That's what makes it work; and it works very very well.

I bought the exact same brace from the same guy - and also had to remove the adjustment nuts to get it to fit. The srut bar is amazingly stout - I was surprised when I got it. That 'silly' brace has to be the best bang for the buck mod ever for 3rd Gen Maximas. I was very skeptical at first; but it improved my handling so much it made a believer out of me! Cut about 85% of the body roll in cornering on my '90 SE.
