Drain as much fluid from reservoir before removal - use a suction device such as a turkey baster or similar. Take care not to spill brake fluid on any painted surface - it damages paint.
After removing brake lines from the master cylinder, cover the pipes with foil or food wrap; don't use duct tape (this is to stop dirt getting into system).
Refit replacement master cylinder to booster and hook up brake lines. Nissan recommend bleeding the master cylinder but it isn't necessary - just takes longer to bleed whole system.
If you have ABS, disconnect earth wire from battery and keep ignition off. Use new brake fluid to DOT 3 standard - don't reuse old brake fluid. When topping up reservoir, cap the bottle - brake fluid is hydroscopic (it absorbs the water in the air which isn't good...)
Bleed in following sequence:
Left rear
Right front
Right rear
Left front
You'll probably have to go around car a few times.
I normally get someone to do the pedal work rather than use a one-man kit. That's purely my preference as I have yet to find a decent & reliable one-man kit in NZ.
As for getting replacement unit, try either remanufactured or take your master cylinder to a brake shop & get them to rebuild it - should take 1-2 hours plus parts. A new master cylinder is $$$
Good luck

They do look very similer when I put them next each other. I bought it for $90+ shipping and I don't know how much they cost, so let me see how much a Maxima one is first before I say I will sell it. Ill look around 2nite and 2mrow, PM me by next week about it!
