Valve Cover Trouble
Valve Cover Trouble
For the past few months I've had my screws on my valve covers tighten down to keep the oil from leaking. Now that is not enough. I need to replace the seals/gasket. I noticed you have to take apart the intake manifold to take off the valve covers THANK YOU NISSAN!!! I am not about to do this myself because I am away at college and don't have the time and tools to do it. How much should I pay to have these fixed?

it takes 3-4 hours for most mechanics to do it, so expect to pay a couple hundred bucks.
you'll need throttle body gasket, upper intake manifold gasket, intake collector gasket, and both valve cover gaskets. about $60 in parts if I remember right.
your location says SE Tx... you still in the area? If you're near Houston, I'll be happy to do the work (for a fee of course, but WAY cheaper than a mechanic).
email me if you want.

It's not that bad. I like it better than houston. I just moved here after 20 years in Tulsa. there's a bunch of rednecks up there, but people here are just generally stoopid- ASIDE from the weather.
