first time at the track

Whats up guys so yesterday was my first time taking my car to the track. I only ran twice which i feel that i shoul of ran more but whatever. so my first time i ran i got a 17.152 and the second time i ran i got a 17.006. I was really dissapponited that i didnt even reach the 16s. IM not sure if there are any tricks to get a better run or anything. all i did was hold the brake and rev it to 3k then floored it But other than that nothing. Also i do have an exhaust with y-pipe.

Ohh i didnt go to e-town by myslef me and a whole bunch of members from the org went down together. also some acura tls went. But i was the only 3rd gen to race but one another 3rd gen was at the track whats up maxi91

you should be in the low 16s with those mods

torque braking to 3k is pointless and will also kill the tranny....flash stall launching is much better, safer and effective. just hold the brake, place your foot on the gas, lift off the brake on the 3rd yellow and slam the gas to the floor. you get MUCH less wheel spin than 3k torque brakes.

ummm, it's an auto VG. the slowest Maxima made in the last 15 years. don't fret over it if you're running 17s.

you should be running low 16s. I was running a 16.4 for y, CAI, and rice rocket muffler.

It all doesn't really matter. At then end of the day, you are still in the 16s

well there might be other things wrong with your car...like was said low 16s are the norm for your mods. of course not impressive times, but possible. I ran 16.2 with I/Y/E....was the happiest day of my life with that damn slow *** car!

c'mon dave, it's not the car, it's you

you will definitely be inthe 16s with practice. This was your first time and the launch is what probably killed you. It killed me too. I wanted to be in the 14s but since I couldn't launch i wound up with something I didn't like.

We will definitely hit up the track again. Just tell me when (try to avoid Weds..lol)

use the launch technique I described in the other post...your 60fts show you're blowing the launch

basically....and you can just press down on the gas a little, but only until you slightly hear the revs rise(bring it up to 1000rpm or so) and on the 2nd yellow let up on the brake and simultaneously press down on the gas and go
