Answers to Audio Mysteries?

After looking thru this site, its archives and others (like the install doctor for instance) i still have un-resolved questions about the plumbing for my cars audio system.
Here are some factoids about my problem and maybe someone else who has explored this path might be able to direct me.
Its a 89 max GXE equipped with factory Bose system(no equalizr). Somewhere along the way the radio died and not thinking, I replaced it with a newer 3rd party unit that had a built in CD player..(JVC).

It worked well for about a year or more and then the CD died. Ok I still have the FM to surf in the meantime and it still sounded OK. Then some weird happenings:
Front Channel in door at driver intermitently comes on. Then I started to get that “Wherring sound” out of the system speakers”(Alternator? possibly the regulator)? This annoying noise cuts in and out too, louder as revs up.

So, sometimes the unit is playing great, and other times I have to turn it off because of the bogus signal it broadcasts. EMI, Grnd loop, needing dedicated power, or ground wires, i tried them all but its not offering the same relief a couple of aspirins provides. Lastly I took another max antenna and plugged it into the radio to see if ground plane is a problem.....although It was sitting on my front seat, it significantly lowered interference sound. Checked impedance off existing mounted one, came up with a value of 3.5 (ohm, not sure about units)

Oh yea, and about those lovely Diversity Adapters for the antenna.
What up with that? are there prefered ones to buy? I dont think I have the “antenna in windsield” scenario, so I could get by with a single direct cable if I run my own, right?

When I shut the radio off, about a fraction of a sec later, a pop sound comes out of the speakers(remote amps, mystery relay in side panel?). I have often wondered about how power is distributed to remote speaker locations since nobody ever seems to mention it and wire diagram dont seem to address it. My guess is audio & power travel over same wires. Well that makes a great case for the intererence problem. Have jiggled the wires, and harness but it doesnt seem to relate to problem.

Bottom line, too much wasted time trying to figure this out, and it is time I dont really have. But I dont want to buy another unit and have the same migrane.
Driving an old junker can be tolerated if it has a decent sound system, but driving my nice max around with this headache is really making me buggy(in case you have not noticed already)

How do u guys spell relief? ........any takers.......
Alan

first off try the audio forum. to answer a question. the fron speaker is shorting out somewhere. the wherring sound is being picked up from the speaker wires being too close to a power wire. chech into it. also your short could be close to a power wire causeing the wherring sound. been there done that.
