that is a straight pipe, it replaces you catalytic converter and frees up your exhaust. it is ONLY legal if you do not need to perform emissions tests in your state. in Oregon where I am, they are legal and I'm going to use one since it's cheaper.
if you put it on, you'll notice a little more smell from your exhaust and maybe a bit of smoke. rather like a motercycle.
i got one on mine i made it for about 5$ when my cat got clogged it works well and for 25$ alreaddy made is a really good deal and i dont have to take emmisions for about 1.5 years so im good for awhile
uhhh, the rotten egg smell comes from a bad cat, NOT from fuel smell. I've been running with a "race pipe" for a couple years, and it never smells like eggs. only smell I get is 93 octane coming out the back when it's cold. after 1-2 minutes, the ECU leans out the mix and I don't smell anything.
the bad cat is what makes the smell, NOT the gasoline.
there's catalysts (chemicals) inside the cat that heat up while you're driving and help the fuel burn. when the catalysts start going bad, they start making foul odors- like the rotten egg smell you're used to.

oh yea. (hits self repetedly on head) i dont know what i was thinking i knew that. humm well in jersey we have to go thru emissions testing however its every 2 years i could throw a test pipe in till inspectino time then throw the cat in for an hours and take it back out again. .what a pain the ****. however id love some more power from the VE.
ohh man you know how long i have been wanting a delete pipe for my max. I was thinking about making a custom one but now i can get one off of ebay pretty cool. What i was wondering is i have a warpspeed y-pipe wit a greddy cat bak should this pipe fit on perfectly or do you think that the circumference is smaller then my y-pipe and my cat bak or is it the same size.
