mystery vac port

There is a vac hose port on the rear left corner of the rear intake manifold. Can anybody tell me where its supposed to connect to? I have looked at the vac diagrams on here and cant seem to find it on there. thanks!

VE or VG?

if its the VE its probably the actuator valve for the variable intake system

Heater Valve

If it's the hose on the left (Facing the motor) it goes to the heater valve on the firewall.

If its on the back left of the upper plenum on a VG intake chances are that your lookin at the vacumm for the cruise control which runs to a vacumm control that is stuck to the center of the firewall about waste high it then runs to the speed control unit which is right behind the water bottle for the windsheild squirts. hope that helps

That port has a hose that goes to the heater valve on the firewall. I can see the heater valve behind and slightly above the oil filler cap in your picture. The hose runs parallel with the large wire harness on the rear valve cover. Check and see if it's laying on the valve cover somewhere near the port. The hoses tend to get hard with age and can fall off without much pull.

Wow, the port was really tucked in there but I finally found it, thanks!!!

This is good for my heater but I was hoping it would fix my big problem...
Car starts, idles fine. Once you try to hit the gas it will act normal for a while (20-40seconds or so) then it starts running extremely rough often to the point of cutting out. If you let off the gas it will go back to normal at idle speed. Started doing this a couple weeks ago, ran fine for the previous 2 months that i've had it. So far I have checked plugs, wires, distributor, fuel pressure, fuel filter, air filter and vac lines. So now im wondering if this is a faulty sensor. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks again for all the help, you guys are awesome!
