im changing over to synthetic oil on my 92 max, i'm using mobil 1 and i understand how to switch over to synthetic correctly, but im still learning stuff about my maxima, i was wondering what kind of oil filter is the best, does nissan use thier own brand of oil filters? If so, would it be a good idea to buy them from nissan? I'm looking to maintain this Max as nice as i can.

 

do you have a VE or VG engine?

 

If you have a VE, try looking in the FAQs about VTC ticking...

 

I use K&N Gold oil filters, and they work great.

 

It's a VG as far as i know

 

If its a VE, use the Napa Gold 1361 filter. Same thing as the K&N, without the extra price.
