Well its time for a new one, motor is gone!

Well guys i was cruising home at about 70mph last night and heard one loud backfire and lost half of my power. and lovely smoke shield behind car. Checked plugs and everyone has oil on it. So i am up for suggestions on what to do. should i bore it out and build this thing up?? or should i just drop in a used VG and go on with my life at 160hp? dont need to hear dumb a$$ comments so just help me here. and what is a good price for a VG and some good places to get one. thanks guys.

I've seen several for sale on ebay from time to time- pretty common to find them there. As cheap as $300, on up to $700 or so. You'd have shipping on top of that, but it might be a place to start.

Drop in a new one then build up the new one on the side, unless you dont mind spending the money right now and having the down time.

If you do decide to do a build up one word of advice: Plan. Plan plan plan! then when your all done with that, make sure you have a cushion of money, because almost always something will go wrong or you will need something, and if your fortunate enough to get away with out having to use that money, there's always maintence

besides, seeing your other mods, I think you might have already made up your mind

www.car-parts.com as cheap as 70 dollars and as high as 3304 dollars.

you could always upgrade to a turbo engine also...

Why not drop in a block from the pathfinder or the z31?

The spray might have had something to do with the shorter life span on his motor though.

Aight guys got motor apart and i have a small hole in piston number 5. i think that i had a injector stop up during last trip to track and the spray did it in. and it just took a few days for it to finally just give out. so new motor is going in tomm with new tranny! new injectors will be in also. dangit
