Anyone who's replaced PCV on VE...
Where'd you get it?
I went to Pepboys in hopes of getting a new one but it wasnt listed. It had a blank where the part # for the VE engine would have been. |
I think I got mine from Napa. Simple little device. But kind of a pain to replace. Way back on the firewall side on the head.
Even from Courtesy, it's just a few $ |
Yeah, I've replaced mine. Be prepared to replace your blow by hose since you might have to cut it off or shatter it. Give courtesy a call. I think I got mine from my local dealer. Not expensive at all and my old one didn't giggle as freely.

I got mine from pepboys, but I just kinda had to eyeball it. I got the one that looked the most like the OEM. Didn't really have a choice since I had picked one up at first and they gave me one for the VG that looked way off and the original PCV valve was floating in a pool of oil from my oil change.

James www.foreignautoparts.cc has it for like $3.00 I think. Not too bad to change just time consuming and a pain in the a$$ location.

Does anyone have a pic of where the pcv valve is located? Many pople have given descriptions but a pic of where it's at would be great!

I was gonna replace my pcv today and I think I found it but I believe that I will need a 19mm deep socket because the socket that I have is too short. And there is no room for a 19mm C wrench. Is this the pcv or something else?
|
just used a 3/4" deep socket + extensions.
to get the hose off I just used some vice grips to squeeze the clamp, then with the angle of the hose just pulled up and off it came. |
Instead of just the regular 3/4 socket you might consider using a 3/4 spark plug socket since it has the rubber inside of it which will hold the PCV valve as you pull it out of its location and not drop on the floor.

BTW what are the symptoms of a bad pcv valve? Rough idle?
