Stereotypical Problem

My Max has the worst luck ever. I'm convinced of it. From getting hit when it's parked in driveways to...well, you'll see.
Last night, my girl and I went to this wedding reception for a friend of mine. My roomie from college is in town for the wedding too, and we're pretty tight so we decide to go out. My girl and I invite some married friends of ours to go with us. The guy can't, but the wife agrees.
We go out and have drinks, just a buncha kids out on the town. My girl gets tired, so I take her home and head back to the bar. More socializing, more drinking ensues. Finally, its last call and we head out.
I'm taking my friend's wife home and over the bump of sub I hear this little voice say, "stop." And I'm like, what did you say? And my friend's wife goes yakkkkkkkk all over me, my center console, my parking brake, herself.
I'm so shocked that I can't help but be cool about it. I'm all, it's ok don't worry about it, we'll get you home, handing her a beach towel and shiat. On the way to drop her off at the house and the smell is starting to set in. My roomie was being a total pain in the azz. Because he couldn't yell at her really, he started beating me and the driver's seat with a newspaper. So, I'm driving her home and trading blows with him in the backseat and trying to comfort my poor lady friend and she's apologizing like there's no tomorrow. Finally, I get everybody home, that was 4am.
Now its 8 and I'm up for work. I explain in monosyllables to my girlfriend what happened last night and she's like, "um...Take my Sentra." Good girl, that one.
So how do I get the puke smell outta my car?

step 1. unplug battery.
step 2. remove the seats and center console
step 3. get the water hose.

nah.. ummm, first, scrape/vacuum/remove all of the chunks and fun stuff you can get. then use a disinfectant of some sort and get the carpet nice and soggy.. shop vac it out and keep doing that until it's clean.

I think Matt is on the right path. I would take out your seats and center console and clean them thoroughly.

You can rent a Rug Doctor with an upholstery attachment for like $25 or so. Use that on your carpet under the console and under the seats. At the very minumum, take out your seats and console and use some kind of heavy duty carpet cleaner in a spray bottle.

If you don't do this, your car will probably have a mild odor of retch for a long time.

Dude, yeah...either spend the money on an interior detailing, or rent a carpet cleaner/steamer and get to work. Believe it or not, I had good luck with Oxi-Clean and Febreeze cleaning and removing the stench of barf in my other vehicle after my son chucked in between the front seats..

Fabreeze works pretty good

That's what I used in my car when a gallon of milk got forgotten in my trunk and leaked out and sat in there for a month rotting in the Texas heat

I know by now its probably too late to say something but make sure you let the car air out. Try to leave a window cracked or something so that the smell doesn't get bottled up inside the car. As long as it can ventilate it won't get too bad but when it sits around it can be hell to get rid of.
