Next Problem !!! :)

OK, I was trying to take my back seat out because I want to recover the rear deck and my repair manual says the seat should just pop out ... Well the both the bottom and the back of the seat did pop out except for one thing stayed stuck and it would not budge (one ring on the bottom and one ring on the back of the seat both would not move) ... I reached my finger in and tried to figure out what was there but all I could detect was a little bit of rust... could this ring be rusted into the hole?? and if so what can I do to get it out >> eventually i am going to recover my seats which will also require their removal ... thanks for ur help guys

What do you mean one ring? Did you pull up on both ends of the seat(left and right) where it is held into the floor? Once you release those two clips that should be it. After that it should pull out, but it also might be screwed in(or is that the back rest part of the seat) All I know is that one of those seat pieces is held in by screws behind black tape stuff. It's probably the backrest though.

Unless of course the 90 GXE is different from the 94. Because I had no rings I just had to pry the seat up on both sides to release the clips(used a big wrench to pry the seat up, those things were in tight!

the first time the seats are pulled out, they'll be a huge PIA. extremely tough. everything is mirror image on the seats though. if you got one corner up, then the other side is exactly the same. just keep pulling and they'll come loose.

you did pull the 4 screws out of the seat back though, right? there's two behind the armrest, and one in each lower corner.

There is also no difference in mounting points between a 90 and a 94. I'm actually using seats from an 89 in my 93 right now, and they drop right in. sides are about 1" narrower, but otherwise they're the same. all mounting points line up.

yeah matt - it was impossible for me to pull the seat up with just my bare hands... which is why I inserted a breaker bar of sorts to pry it up, and that did the trick. However I ended up ripping the whole entire plastic clip off on the right side, including the part on the floor meaning that I can just lift the right side up using little to no force. Oh well what are you gonna do right?

There's really no need to the seat is still tightly held down you wouldn't know it broke unless you tried lifting it on that side.

The plastic holders for the bottom seat cushion are very hard when new. I had to use a pry bar and gently coax the seat up. One of the plastic buckets actually came out with the seat. I took it off with a pliers and stuffed back in the hole.
