One question about suspension install

I just got my new strut assemblies and springs today. I have one question about them, which seems kind of lame.

The springs (obviously) are constructed so that they lay semi flat into the molded cup on the strut. My springs have slightly different heights on each end; one makes the spring lean away from center, but the other one makes it vertical, yet it doesn't quite lay down into the support properly.

My question is this: does it matter which vertical orientation the springs have, or will it come out the same in the end when they're all compressed between the mounts?

I didn't notice anything like this last week when I had the stock strut assembly off to fix a broken top mount. Of course, with the stock one, it only came off one way so I put it back the same way.

If they're progressively wound (long coils and short coils) on the rear, then the shorter spacing goes on top.

usually, there will be a logo or something stamped on the coils.. if so, then orient the springs so the writing is up. pretty general, but should be something to go on.
