BROKEN Control Arm Bushing

Ok! My Maxima is Slowly Eating itself away! I dropped it off one night at Tire Kingdom and found out there 7 point inspection was NICE!! About $2300 Nice... A little bit here and there... So I told them all I wanted was an Alignment and Oil change. WoW

Ok Next, I just wanted to Know if anyone knows if the Lower Control arm Bushings are replaceable. I dont want the whole control arm, just a Bushing in the Arms joint.

I found the Bushings on Car Parts $42, but I just wanted to know if its possible to change them or the part I found was for something else..

Thanks, any info would help!

Little something you might want to consider.

If you still insist on doing it yourself, I've posted a writeup at www.4dsc.com/articles

I was ripped off a couple times like that in the past. ALWAYS get a second opinion if they say that your car needs a major repair. Three things can happen; a) it indeed does but you can fix it much cheaper at an independent shop, b) it does not and can be fixed otherwise, c) it is something else and is a minor problem. Some would argue that it could be d) there is no problem or is uncritical to be repaired and they just want your money.

Use the bushings from an 88 max. and do a search.

Jees, my bushings are ripped, both outer cv boots are nearly missing and 1 of my spider boots is torn down the center. I noticed all of this while fixing my power steering.

That's going to be a lot of work. And yes the joints are perfectly fine, still packed with grease, I just have to fix it quick.
