I have a 93 SE and have a miss occurring regularly now. Dealer has diagnosed as bad coil, and plan to replace myself. Who has done this, and where did you get your coils. Nissan dealer wants $1800 to repair. I know it can be done cheaper! Any help, please respond or email. Thanks! srm

Send an e-mail to NissMaxSE@aol.com.

He has some coils and things for sale that fit a '92-94 SE.

I was going to buy his fuel injectors, but could not
determine if they would work okay in my '93 GXE.

I think he was selling them cheap, so you might drop him
a note...

Check in the back of some magazines (compact car). I found some good places for parts. I bought 6 coils for $325 and put them in myself in about 10 min. Brown and Sons Nissan has been giving me the best deals. I think the Number is 1-800-237-0003. Give it a shot its better than $1800.

Sleeper...question for you

You say that you replaced yours and it was easy. Question I have is whether or not there is a difference b/w the 1,3,5 coils and 2,4,6 coils. The FSM has drawings, and they look different. When you ordered your set, was there a difference and did they come that way or did you have to specify. It is a bit confusing...any insight will help. I need to get some ordered and just don't want any hassle.

By the way, what kind did you get? Nissan? I'm looking at Bosch through the NOPI web site.

thanks!

Re: Sleeper...question for you

I got Nissan coils and it was pretty easy. I'm trying to remember if there all the same which I think they are. The hardest part was getting the old boot of the old coils and putting it on the new ones. That was the hardest thing other than that it was pretty easy. It was just a matter of doing them one at a time and making sure they looked the same. My car has ran good ever since. But believe me it was embarresing when it used to cut out on me.
