IDLE problem

My dad and I just put a newer engine(VE30DE) into my 93 SE. The new engine was from a salvaged Maxima, which we heard run before purchasing it. The engine ran fine, with only 129K on it. Last night when it started up, we could not get the engine to idle below 1500 rpms. When we tried to move the sensor on the side of the throttle body to lower rpms, it would cough and die. Could our problem be a computer by any chance? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx-

TPS or MAF may be your culprit. nissan can change the idle i think with CONSULT. but im not sure.

where was your car from and where is the engine from? Reason is, here in Cali a lot of cars have different emissions so the senors and ecu are designed to operate on seperate values from the rest of the US.

Friend bought an ECU for a 240SX from Texas in his CA 240 and the thing didn't idle at all either

the idle can be adjusted on the ecu i believe. unless the ve ecu is totally different than the vg ecu (in regards to idle control)

Paid 250 for the complete engine- I'm going to look deeper into the CA sensor deal- could I have plugged anything of importance in the throttle body when I tried cleaning it? thanks for the feedback-
